The Young Marines strengthens the lives of America’s youth by teaching the importance of self-confidence, academic achievement, honoring our veterans, good citizenship, community service, and living a healthy, drug-free lifestyle. The Young Marines promotes the mental, moral, and physical development of its members. The program focuses on character building and leadership and promotes a lifestyle that is conducive to being productive members of society.
The Young Marines program is not a program for youths with serious disciplinary problems, substance abuse issues or lengthy histories in juvenile court. We aren't designed as a "scared-straight" organization though some parents do see marked improvement in their youth's behavior after some time in our program. If a youth does not want to be with us, the program will not work so we ask you not to force your youth to join.
Any boy or girl age 8 through the graduation from high school will benefit from joining our group. Our membership includes youth who participate in sports, band, or other extra curricular as well as youth with various different disabilities. We open our doors to them all and provide a safe and welcoming environment for them to become the best they can be.
Young Marines are placed into leadership roles starting with how to follow all the way through leading hundreds of others.
Young Marines are taught to look after one another and work together to solve problems and achieve common goals.
Young Marines are taught self-discipline to react properly in tough situations, keep themselves healthy, and eventually to tackle life's challenges.
